Remains of Fallen TNI Members in Lebanon to Arrive at Soekarno-Hatta Tomorrow Afternoon
Three remains of TNI members who fell in southern Lebanon and were part of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) peacekeeping contingent will arrive at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang, Banten, tomorrow (4 April) at 17:35 WIB. The three remains were transported from Turkey using Turkish Airlines flight number TK 056 from Istanbul, Turkey. The three TNI members’ remains will first be laid in state at Soekarno-Hatta to receive the final honours. The remains will then be transported from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, Jakarta, and returned to their places of origin. The three fallen TNI soldiers are Major Inf (Anm) Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, who is planned to be buried at the Cikutra Heroes’ Cemetery (TMP), Bandung; Serka (Anm) M. Nur Ichwan, to be buried at TMP Giri Dharmaloyo II, Magelang; and Kopda (Anm) Farizal Rhomadon at TMP Giripeni, from Kulonprogo. Kopda Farizal Rhomadon died from artillery fire near the Indonesian UNIFIL headquarters in the vicinity of Adchit Al Qusayr, southern Lebanon, on Sunday (29 March). The two other TNI members in UNIFIL, Major Inf Zulmi Aditya Iskandar and Serka Muhammad Nur Ichwan, fell while escorting troops. Their vehicle was attacked on Monday (30 March). UNIFIL provided the final honours for the three soldiers, held at the Lebanese Air Force Hangar in Beirut. The ceremony was led by UNIFIL Force Commander and Head of Mission Major General Diodato Abagnara.
