JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The queue of residents wishing to attend President Prabowo Subianto’s halalbihalal at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta is now just 5 metres long.

Kompas.com observations at 3:00 PM Western Indonesia Time showed the queue positioned right in front of the Majapahit gate on the west side of the Palace.

Meanwhile, the Palace gate has not yet been opened as it awaits the queue of residents still participating in activities inside.

“Open, open, open,” shouted the residents. “Open, open, open,” the residents continued while waving their hands.

Additionally, residents crowded around, pressing their bodies and feet against the Palace gate.

As a result, the gate could not be opened. Security personnel appeared overwhelmed in managing the residents, shouting instructions in a raised tone.

The personnel asked the residents to stay away from the gate to maintain an orderly queue.

“Your feet and the mothers’ feet are more valuable. This iron is hard, sir. Be careful with your feet, sir, and mothers’ feet,” shouted the personnel. “Don’t push and shove, don’t push and shove. There’s still enough space, don’t worry,” the personnel added.

Because the residents ignored the instructions, the personnel stated that the Palace gate would not be opened for the time being.

“Because it’s not orderly in managing the activity, for now, I will close the activity,” the personnel said firmly.

Finally, several police officers helped to form the queue into two rows. Afterwards, several TNI soldiers arrived to assist with securing the queue.

At 4:00 PM Western Indonesia Time, more residents were still arriving to queue in front of the Palace.

Previously, the queue of residents intending to attend President Prabowo Subianto’s halalbihalal snaked up to about 60 metres in front of the Majapahit Gate, Presidential Palace Complex, Gambir, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (21/3/2026).

Kompas.com observations showed residents queuing under white-green tents while standing.
