Remaining Holidays in May 2026 Include a Long Weekend — Note the Exact Dates

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The May 2026 calendar still contains several national holidays and collective leave days that the public can use to rest or plan short holidays, including a long weekend at the end of the month. Based on Joint Decree of the Three Ministers (SKB) Number 1497 of 2025; Number 2 of 2025; and Number 5 of 2025, May 2026 has a total of six holidays, consisting of four national holidays and two collective leave days. Some holidays in early to mid-month had already been enjoyed by the public, namely Labour Day on 1 May 2026 and the Feast of the Ascension of Jesus Christ on 14–15 May 2026. After these two moments, the holiday calendar continues at the end of the month. Moreover, the calendar shows a long weekend formed from a combination of national holidays and Saturdays–Sundays. This pattern gives the public further opportunities to plan travel, short mudik trips, or simply rest from the work routine before entering June 2026. With these remaining holidays, May 2026 is one of the relatively ‘holiday-friendly’ months because its holiday distribution is not only concentrated at the start of the month but also spread through to the end of the month.
