Survivors of the landslide disaster in Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency (KBB), West Java, have received additional funds to rent homes. The rental assistance was provided because survivors of the deadly landslide earlier this year have not yet obtained permanent housing.

Assistance amounting to Rp 172,800,000 from the West Bandung Regency Government and Rp 30,000,000 in donations from the West Bandung Regency Alumni Association of Higher Education in Governance (IKAPTK) was symbolically handed over by West Bandung Regent Jeje Ritchie Ismail to residents in Pasirlangu Village on Thursday (18/6/2026).

“Today, Alhamdulillah, we can return to Pasirlangu. We are here again to see the current situation and provide additional rental assistance for affected residents,” Jeje said at the location.

The aid is allocated for 32 families of landslide survivors who are known to still lack new permanent housing. They have been renting since their homes were buried by the landslide on 24 January. Dozens of people also died in the incident.

Jeje explained that each family will receive Rp 600,000 per month specifically for renting a house while the relocation process, which is still under discussion, is ongoing. Additionally, landslide survivors regularly receive monthly staple food supplies.

“So we are providing assistance for nine months of house rental, totalling Rp 172,800,000 for 32 families. The important thing is that residents do not face hardship; for now, we are providing additional assistance like this,” Jeje stated.

Jeje emphasised that the West Bandung Regency Government continuously monitors the latest developments of the landslide survivors in Pasirlangu Village. He does not want any residents to experience difficulties after being struck by the landslide disaster that buried property and lives.

“After this disaster, the government is not silent. I always receive reports regarding the conditions here, and I do not want the community to struggle,” Jeje said.

He hopes that clarity on the relocation will be confirmed soon so that new homes for the landslide survivors can be built. However, if the houses are not completed within these nine months, the government will again provide rental assistance.

“This is for nine months; later, if there is still no housing, there will be additional rental funds. We continue to strive, and the relocation will be discussed further,” Jeje concluded.
