Religious leaders consisting of KH. Ali Yafie, Rev. Natan Setiabudi, Fr. Ismantoro, Oka Adiputra, and Ali Suripto have issued ten joint moral messages. Similarly, the Popular Social Inter Exchange Agency (BISMA), with distinguished figures representing several religions H. Sulastomo, Nurcholish Madjid, Fr. Yatno Yuwono, Buddhist Monk Vijito, Frans Seda, Said Aqiel, Siti Hartati Murdaya, Ciputra, John N. Palinggi, Ali Yafie, and Natan Setiabudi, has appealed for an end to the violence in Maluku.

More than 3,000 people have been killed. Don't let it happen in other areas. Caring about Maluku, communities have recently launched demonstrations before Megawati demanding that Maluku uproars be overcome soon. What's the use of Bhineka Tunggal Ika (Unity In Diversity) if it's only a writing or slogan?

What's important is our daily lives in this beloved country. If the Police and the Military (TNI) are reluctant to take stern measures not due to their being incapable, it's better to act resolutely to prevent more people falling victims, and where necessary, to enforce martial law, rather than being forced to accept the deployment of UN forces. If we reject foreign forces, we must be able to solve the procrastinating tumults. Souls are highly valued in the international world.
