Religious Affairs Ministry Assures Madrasah Teachers That Professional Allowance Will Be Paid

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Director General of Islamic Education at the Religious Affairs Ministry, Amien Suyitno, has asked madrasah teachers not to worry about the delay in the payment of their Professional Allowance (TPG) for January and February 2026.

“Usually, our experience is that all employee-related expenses are met. There is no need to worry, this is the government,” said Suyitno when met at the Religious Affairs Ministry office, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (26 February 2025).

“There are no obstacles, everything is in accordance with the procedural stages. Because the procedure is like that, all submissions are reviewed first, so it is in accordance with the procedure,” he added.

According to the regulations, the budget for teacher allowances can only be submitted if the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) programme has been completed.

“It only concerns the procedure, so at that time the PPG learning process was still ongoing. According to the rules, the budget cannot be allocated during the learning period, waiting for graduation, which has just been announced,” he said.

“In that process, it was then reviewed by the Inspector General and is currently in progress. So indeed, the PPG is at the end of the year, it is not possible for us to submit the budget at the end of the year,” he said.

Although he did not specify when the Madrasah TPG would be paid, Suyitno hopes that the allowance will be disbursed as soon as possible.

“Yes, let’s hope for the best, because it is not only us who are involved, there are other ministries that are handling it,” he explained.
