Religious Affairs Minister Instructs Acceleration of PAI Teacher Professional Allowance Disbursement
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Indonesia’s Minister of Religious Affairs, Nasaruddin Umar, has instructed his subordinates to accelerate the disbursement process of the Professional Teacher Allowance (TPG) for Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers.
“For those still in process, I have instructed the regional apparatus to speed up document verification and bank transfers so that no more teachers have to wait too long,” Nasaruddin said in his statement on Wednesday (29/4/2026).
He explained that the current progress of TPG disbursement for PAI for the January-February 2026 period has reached 87.4 percent.
Out of 234,265 eligible teachers, 204,747 teachers have received the TPG.
This even includes teachers who graduated from PPG in 2025 and already have a Teacher Registration Number (NRG).
The disbursement is carried out using the existing budget already available in the regions.
“Meanwhile, the disbursement of TPG for ASN Madrasah teachers is not yet uniform nationally. Some regions have already disbursed it, while others are still in process,” Nasaruddin said.
Furthermore, 796,418 people or 68.8 percent are non-ASN teachers. The majority of these teachers serve in madrasahs, totaling 655,622 people.
“This data shows one fundamental thing about the high contribution of non-ASN teachers. Therefore, future teacher governance policies will focus on strengthening their status, improving welfare, and developing their professionalism,” the minister stated.
