Reliable clean energy a key factor in attracting investment

PT Geo Dipa Energi (Persero) has stated that reliable clean energy, such as geothermal, is a key factor in attracting industrial investment. “Clean and reliable energy will be a key factor in attracting industrial investment, strengthening economic zones, and supporting the growth of industries that require low-emission energy supplies,” said PT Geo Dipa Energi President Director Yudistian Yunis in Dieng, Central Java.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) stated that the use of geothermal energy is not only for energy transition but also as a driver of a new economy to provide real benefits to the community. ESDM Minister’s Expert Staff for Human Resources Development and Entrepreneurship, Benny Indra Batubara, said that new and renewable energy is not just a technical solution but also a driver of a new, inclusive, and sustainable economy. He explained that the direct use of geothermal energy has great potential to support the agricultural sector, processing of agricultural products, fisheries, geothermal-based tourism, and the strengthening of small and medium industries. As a country with around 40 per cent of the world’s geothermal potential, Indonesia has a significant opportunity to utilise this energy for sustainable development.
