Reliability of Logistics Services Becomes a Key Factor in Maintaining Customer Supply Chains
PT Alfa Trans Raya (ATR), a subsidiary of PT Cipta Krida Bahari (CKB Logistics), has launched its newest container vessel, Alfa Trans Tiga, at Tanjung Emas Port in Semarang, Central Java. The ship marks a strategic step to strengthen the company’s maritime logistics services, making them reliable, efficient and safe to support growing customer transport needs. As the company’s largest vessel, Alfa Trans Tiga is designed to meet increasingly complex customer logistics requirements. It is optimised for container carriage, with a spacious and efficient cargo hold, and it can handle special cargo, including hazardous goods, to strategic operating regions. Managing Director of PT Alfa Trans Raya, Ety Puspitasari, said the launch demonstrates the company’s commitment to growing with customers by delivering logistics solutions relevant to their operational needs. “We recognise that the reliability of logistics services is a key factor in sustaining our customers’ supply chains. Therefore the presence of Alfa Trans Tiga is part of our long-term investment to ensure adequate carrying capacity, more stable service schedules, and increasingly solid operational support for customers across strategic regions,” Ety said on Friday 22 May 2026. This move also underscores the commitment of CKB Logistics and ATR to enhancing connectivity and reliability of national maritime logistics. She emphasised that the new container vessel is a long-term investment to ensure greater vessel space availability and scheduling, enabling smoother supply chain operations, especially for industries that require service certainty and on-time delivery. The ship will also strengthen ATR’s flexibility in serving customers’ distribution needs across key industrial sectors. “This addition to the fleet is to increase ATR’s operational capacity and make it more adaptable for transporting industrial cargo, including the mining, energy and mineral processing sectors.” “We want to ensure customers receive more measurable, safer logistics solutions that align with field requirements, including for remote operational areas. Over the next five years we plan to have a fleet of new ships as part of CKB’s strategic plan,” said Ety, who is also Director of Logistics and Distribution at CKB Logistics. Meanwhile, Iman Sjafei, President Director of CKB Logistics, explained strategically that Alfa Trans Tiga is projected to support the strengthening of integrated logistics distribution on the shipping corridor to Sulawesi and the Central and Eastern Indonesia regions. “This area is a growth centre for industries that require consistent maritime logistics support, both in terms of capacity, connectivity and service certainty. The arrival of the new fleet is expected to help customers maintain supply chain stability from upstream to downstream more effectively,” he said. During its construction, the vessel has been developed under strict supervision to ensure compliance with high maritime quality standards and navigational safety. The focus aligns with the company’s commitment to service, operational and safety excellence, and compliance with stringent health, safety and environment (HSE) standards, especially in meeting operational needs in areas demanding reliability and caution. Looking ahead, Alfa Trans Tiga is scheduled to undertake its maiden voyage in late June or early July 2026. With the addition of this fleet, CKB Logistics and ATR hope to continue delivering increasingly reliable and sustainable sea transport services, while strengthening the company’s role in supporting national logistics needs and customers’ business growth across strategic operating regions.
