Relationship between Prince William and Harry reportedly shows no progress

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The relationship between the brothers Prince William and Prince Harry reportedly shows no progress following the return of the younger brother to the United Kingdom in August.

The British newspaper Express, reporting on Tuesday (6/10), said that Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle planned to apologise to Prince William and Princess Kate over their remarks during their 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey. However, a source close to Prince Harry and Meghan denied the report, according to a report by People on Wednesday (7/10).

“Nonsense,” the source said.

In an interview last year, Prince Harry expressed his wish to make amends for all the tensions that had arisen.

The tensions between Prince Harry and his family followed his departure from the royal family in 2020, his interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, a documentary series on Netflix, and the prince’s memoir “Spare”, published in 2023.

After stepping back from royal duties, the couple moved to California, United States.

Before returning to the United Kingdom, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Archie and Lilibet were reportedly met King Charles in July. Since their return, Prince Harry has reportedly spoken with his father at least once.

A source earlier also said there remained a possibility that relations between the two princes could improve.
