The Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR)
Hidayat Nur Wahid has said that he will reject the Volvo
automobile allocated for him. In this respect, the Speaker of the
House of People's Representatives, Agung Laksono, while yet to
respond to Hidayat Nur Wahid's initiative, said that the
leadership of the House was yet to discuss anything about the
facilities designated for House members. He also said that cost
effectiveness factor was not concerned only with doing without
four or five automobiles but, rather, with how much money should
be saved so that the impact would be significant.

However, Hidayat Nur Wahid's initiative is a good example.
Most government officials will make the best use of the
facilities that the state allocates for them. Only a small number
of government officials are very careful about accepting these
facilities because, for them, this life is but an ordeal.
