After four months of construction, the Reje Payung Suspension Bridge, also known as the Garuda III Pioneer Bridge, in Linge District, Central Aceh Regency, has officially been completed. The structure, which spans the Jamboaye River, is expected to restore connectivity for residents and smooth social and economic activity in the surrounding area.

The Task Force for Accelerated Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) of the Aceh Regional Post said the bridge, located within the working area of Kodim 0106/Central Aceh, connects Reje Payung Village and Jamat Village after residents’ access had previously been disrupted. The suspension bridge, with a span of approximately 90 metres, was built across the Jamboaye River using a main cable construction supporting the bridge deck, with towers at both ends and an anchor block system to hold the cable tension.

The Head of the PRR Regional Post, Safrizal Zakaria Ali, said the construction involved personnel from Koramil 05/Linge, 12 personnel from the 854/Dharma Kersaka Territorial Development Battalion, one combat engineering assistant from Kodam Iskandar Muda, and three local residents.

According to Safrizal, the construction of the Garuda Pioneer Bridge forms part of a national strategic programme aimed at restoring connectivity in remote areas and disaster-affected regions through collaboration between the TNI and the community.

“Alhamdulillah, thanks to the hard work of the TNI, the community, and the support of various parties, the Garuda III Pioneer Bridge in Linge has been completed. With this, residents’ activities are expected to return to normal,” he said.

Safrizal added that post-disaster recovery requires the synergy of all parties so that the recovery process can proceed more quickly and bring benefits to the community.
