The Regent of Rejang Lebong, Muhammad Fikri Thobari, has been declared a suspect by the Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) following a sting operation (OTT) conducted on Tuesday, 10 March.

A total of five individuals have been named as suspects following this operation, including Fikri Thobari.

“Five individuals have been declared suspects—three as the alleged bribe-givers and two as the alleged recipients,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the commission’s office in Jakarta on Tuesday evening, 10 March.

“Yes, one of them is the Regent of Rejang Lebong,” Budi confirmed when asked about the regent’s suspect status.

He clarified that three other suspects are private sector actors acting as alleged bribe-givers. The remaining two are state officials serving as alleged recipients of bribes. This classification includes Fikri.

KPK investigators have already conducted a briefing at the leadership level, and the legal status of those apprehended has been determined.

Regarding other matters such as the timeline of the sting operation and the construction of the case, further details will be presented during a press conference on Wednesday, 11 March.
