The Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) has carried out a surprise corruption sting operation in Bengkulu Province. Through this covert operation, the KPK’s enforcement team apprehended several individuals, including the Regent of Rejang Lebong, Muhammad Fikri Thobari.

The arrest was confirmed by KPK Deputy Chairperson Fitroh Rohcahyanto.

“Yes, the Regent of Rejang Lebong,” Fitroh told journalists on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

Fikri Thobari, along with several other individuals, is suspected of involvement in bribery transactions. During the operation, the KPK task force also secured cash as evidence.

“Cash was secured,” said Fitroh.

However, Fitroh has not provided detailed information about the criminal allegations against Fikri Thobari and the other detained individuals. Fitroh also remained silent on the amount of cash seized during the operation.

The KPK is now conducting intensive questioning of Fikri Thobari and other individuals involved. The anti-corruption agency has 24 hours to determine the legal status of those caught in the sting operation.
