Rejang Lebong receives additional four reserve Hajj quotas
Rejang Lebong, Bengkulu (ANTARA) - The Rejang Lebong District Office of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) in Bengkulu Province has stated that the area has received an additional Hajj quota of four people, drawn from the reserve quota for the 1447 Hijriah/2026 Hajj season.
The Head of the Rejang Lebong Kemenhaj Office, M Adityawarman Budi, when contacted in Rejang Lebong on Thursday, said that with this addition, the total number of prospective Hajj pilgrims (JCH) from the region departing this year is 12 people.
“Alhamdulillah, Rejang Lebong has received an addition of four people through the reserve quota. So, Rejang Lebong is sending off 12 prospective pilgrims this year,” he said.
This quota addition is a transfer from Bengkulu City’s quota, where prospective pilgrims deferred their departure due to illness or other reasons, totalling seven people. From these seven vacant slots, four seats were given to Rejang Lebong and three to Kepahiang District.
“They will join Kloter 14 at Padang Embarkation and depart in the second wave. Their travel route starts from Makkah, then Jeddah, and finally to Madinah,” he explained.
Meanwhile, eight prospective pilgrims from Rejang Lebong were sent off earlier on 27 April 2026. The pilgrims, grouped in Kloter 2 and Kloter 5 at Padang Embarkation, have reportedly arrived in Makkah.
Regarding the significant decline in Rejang Lebong’s Hajj quota this year compared to the previous year’s 220 people, he explained that it occurred due to changes in technical regulations.
“Information suggests that next year it could reach around 300 people according to the registration year, but we are still awaiting the official regulations setting the 2027 Hajj quota,” said M Adityawarman Budi.
