Rejang Lebong Deputy Regent Not Named Suspect Following KPK Sting Operation

JAKARTA — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has not designated Rejang Lebong Deputy Regent Hendri as a suspect following his capture in a sting operation (OTT) in Bengkulu on the evening of Monday, 9 March 2026.

“No (not a suspect),” said KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto when contacted by Kompas.com on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

Fitroh stated that, based on the case exposition results, Hendri was not found to be implicated in the project bribery case, as indicated by the preliminary evidence.

In an earlier report, the KPK had arrested Hendri, Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari and 11 others during the sting operation in Bengkulu on Monday, 9 March 2026.

However, of the 13 people arrested, only five were designated as suspects, including Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari.

“Yes, the Rejang Lebong Regent is one of them (named as a suspect),” he added.

Fitroh stated that the five individuals designated as suspects comprised three bribe givers and two bribe receivers.
