'ReHumanize' theme at IdeaFest 2026 calls on industries to prioritise humanity in AI era
As it enters its 15th year, IdeaFest 2026 returns with the ‘ReHumanize’ theme, a response to the rapid advancement of technology and artificial intelligence (AI) which is increasingly reshaping how people live, work, and interact. The theme encourages industries to place humanity at the centre of innovation.
AI adoption in Indonesia continues to grow significantly. According to PwC Indonesia’s study, 69% of workers have used AI in their professional activities over the past year, with 16% using it daily. This highlights technology’s proximity to everyday life and the need for a more human-oriented approach.
‘ReHumanize is a collective movement that is timely amid current technological acceleration,’ said Desy Bachir, IdeaFest co-chair, in a press statement on Wednesday (27 May). ‘We believe that behind every innovation, there must always be human values as the foundation. Without it, technology can lose direction and meaning.’
A lineup of speakers including innovators, creators, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders from various fields such as film, music, fashion, technology, politics, F&B, comedy, sports, and popular culture will discuss the theme in-depth.
Through IdeaFest 2026, organisers hope to drive a change in the creative industries’ mindset, where innovation success is measured not just by technological sophistication but by its impact on human life.
‘Through IdeaFest, we aim to create a cross-industry dialogue that ensures innovation remains human-centred while opening discussions on technology’s social, cultural, and emotional impacts on humanity,’ Desy added.
This year’s event will take place from 4-6 September 2026 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) with a larger scale and programmes more aligned with current industry and societal dynamics.
As part of refreshment, IdeaFest introduces a new programme, Jktgo Super Crazy Festival, a curated market featuring over 200 local brands as a platform for creative entrepreneurs to grow.
