Registration Still Open for 4 Categories of DPD RI Awards 2026

The Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) is still accepting nominations for the DPD RI Awards 2026 until 21 August. The awards feature four categories to honour individuals driving change in their regions. The public can nominate candidates through the official website at http://awards.dpd.go.id. “Through the DPD RI Awards 2026, the DPD RI hopes that more figures who have worked and contributed to society will receive appreciation while becoming an inspiration for other regions,” the DPD stated in an official release on Tuesday (11/8/2026). The four categories are: 1. Non-Formal Education Innovator, awarded to individuals dedicated to developing non-formal education and expanding learning opportunities for the community. 2. Health Technology Innovator, given to professionals or academics who produce innovations in health through clinical or laboratory research, including the discovery of medicines, therapies, or medical devices that benefit the public. 3. Independent Food Village Activator, aimed at those who promote food self-sufficiency by utilising local food potential, empowering communities, and strengthening sustainable food security. 4. Regional Culture Preservationist, presented to individuals who demonstrate innovation in developing and preserving regional culture and actively promote it at national and international levels. The DPD RI will also present Special Recognition Awards to figures, individuals, or groups who have made consistent and sustainable contributions to their regions. DPD RI Chairman Sultan B Najamudin stated that the awards provide a platform to honour inspirational figures from various regions who have worked and contributed significantly without national public attention. “Through this event, the DPD RI wants to emphasise that the strength of Indonesia’s development rests on the initiatives and hard work of communities throughout the archipelago, not just in central government and big cities,” Sultan said during the previous DPD Awards in 2025. He added that the awards reflect the aspirations of the people that the DPD RI champions at the national level, reminding that DPD members are direct representatives of regional interests, bringing the people’s voice into national policy. He noted that many community figures are true drivers of change and regional progress across strategic sectors but have yet to receive adequate recognition. “Several categories deserve to be given to local people or regional figures whose contributions are quite significant,” he said. The contributions of candidates and finalists, Sultan continued, cover sectors including education, social affairs, health, tourism, the creative economy, culture, and environmental conservation. The DPD Awards are expected to strengthen the spirit of these figures to continue inspiring and expanding the impact of their efforts in society.
