Registration Schedule for 2026 Academic Competency Test and National Assessment Moved Forward to 27 July

The Agency for Primary and Secondary Education Policy (BKPDM), under the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen), has officially adjusted the registration schedule for the 2026 Academic Competency Test (TKA) and National Assessment (AN). The policy applies to SMA/MA/equivalent and SMK/MAK levels across Indonesia. The registration period, originally planned to commence on 18 August 2026, has been brought forward to 27 July and will run until 27 September 2026. This change means registration begins three weeks earlier than initially scheduled to provide greater flexibility for educational institutions. Head of BKPDM, Toni Toharudin, explained that the measure was taken to give schools more room to update student data, particularly in light of the reopening of the Basic Education Data System (Dapodik) on 15 July 2026. “We want to ensure that the data used in the implementation of the TKA and National Assessment is truly the most current, so that no eligible student is excluded from the system due to outdated records,” Toni stated on Wednesday (8/7). He added that the longer registration duration is expected to help educational institutions capture students who have not yet been registered, a critical factor for regions with limited internet access or schools facing a shortage of administrative operators. “Data quality determines assessment outcomes. Once Dapodik reopens on 15 July, we urge educational institutions to immediately verify and update data without waiting for the registration deadline,” he emphasised. The 2026 TKA and AN implementation is based on several recent regulations. As a follow-up, BKPDM issued Head of BKPDM Letter Number 0212/B/F/SK.02.02/2026 dated 1 July 2026, which has been distributed to the Regional Offices of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Provincial/Regency/City Education Offices, and Indonesian representatives abroad as an official reference.
