Registration Opens Today for Free 2026 Lebaran Travel Programme by Transport Ministry
The Ministry of Transport (Kemenhub) through its Directorate General of Land Transport has officially launched a free travel programme using buses to meet demand for the 2026 Lebaran holiday, opening today, Sunday 1 March 2026, at 8am WIB.
Citizens and users interested in the programme should know the registration procedure for the Kemenhub 2026 free travel service. Registration takes place online via nusantara.kemenhub.go.id.
Registration for the Kemenhub 2026 free travel programme is open daily from 1–15 March 2026, starting at 8am WIB and closing once the daily quota is filled. The programme provides 410 buses for a total of 15,834 passenger seats for outbound and return journeys. The free travel service also provides transport for motorcycles for passengers wishing to return to their hometowns with two-wheelers, with 8 trucks available to carry 240 motorcycles.
The Kemenhub 2026 free travel programme facilitates journeys to various destinations and return travel. At minimum, there are 34 outbound destinations, 12 return destinations, and 4 destinations for both outbound and return motorcycle travel covering West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta Special Region, East Java, and Sumatra.
According to the official Transport Ministry Instagram account, departures for this free travel programme are divided into two periods: outbound and return travel. For outbound journeys, Kemenhub’s 2026 free travel passengers will depart from 16–18 March 2026.
For the return period, Kemenhub 2026 free travel passengers will depart on 25 March 2026. Before departure, participants are required to complete validation or re-registration at designated checkpoints.
