Registration Opens for Independence Day Ceremony at Merdeka Palace, Required Documents Listed

The Indonesian Government Communication Agency (Bakom RI) has advised the public to prepare all required documents before registering to attend the 81st Independence Day ceremony at Merdeka Palace, with online registration opening on Wednesday. Bakom RI stated in a written release that early document preparation is necessary because the committee provides a limited registration quota each day. The government anticipates high public enthusiasm, meaning the invitation quota could be filled quickly. Therefore, the public is urged to expedite the registration process by preparing all requirements before registration opens. Registration can be completed via the official Pandang Istana website at https://pandang.istanapresiden.go.id. To facilitate the registration process, applicants must prepare their National Identity Card (KTP) or Child Identity Card (KIA). The public is also asked to ensure that the registered email address and telephone number are active. The opportunity to attend the ceremony in person at Merdeka Palace is part of the government’s effort to broaden public access to the commemoration of the Republic of Indonesia’s Independence Day. Through this programme, the public is expected to be able to follow the ceremonial procession while also witnessing various art and cultural performances.
