Registration for the Ministry of Transportation's Free Homecoming Program Opens on March 1st, 2026, Prepare Your Requirements
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) is preparing 401 buses for the free homecoming program during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr transportation period. The program will be accessible to the public starting on March 1st, 2026.
The Director General of Land Transportation, Aan Suhanan, stated that the total capacity provided reaches 15,834 passengers for both the outbound and return journeys.
“Registration will open on March 1st, 2026, online through the website nusantara.kemenhub.go.id and will close when all quotas have been filled,” Aan said in Jakarta on Wednesday (February 25th, 2026).
The free homecoming program for land transportation this year serves 34 destination cities in 10 provinces. These include Palembang, Lampung, Bengkulu, Padang, Medan, Aceh, Garut, Tasikmalaya, Cirebon, Kuningan, Semarang, Solo, Yogyakarta, Wonogiri, Purwokerto, and Tegal.
In addition, the program also serves Pekalongan, Demak, Boyolali, Klaten, Pati, Blora, Cilacap, Wonosobo, Kebumen, Magelang, Wonosari, Jepara, Sragen, Madiun, Surabaya, Tuban, Malang, and Tulungagung.
For the return journey, departures will be conducted from 12 cities in eight provinces, namely Kuningan, Madiun, Surabaya, Palembang, Padang, Medan, Aceh, Semarang, Solo, Yogyakarta, Wonogiri, and Purwokerto.
In addition to buses, the Ministry of Transportation also provides eight trucks for transporting motorcycles. This facility can transport 240 motorcycles belonging to returning travellers.
“The cities served for motorcycle transportation during the outbound and return journeys are Solo, Yogyakarta, Wonogiri, and Purwokerto,” said Aan.
For the outbound journey, departures will be divided into three days at five locations. On March 16th, 2026, departures will be from the Pondok Cabe Terminal, South Tangerang. On March 17th, 2026, departures will be from the Jatijajar Terminal, Depok, and the Pulogebang Terminal, Jakarta. Meanwhile, on March 18th, 2026, departures will be from the Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Jakarta, and the Poris Plawad Terminal, Tangerang.
The return journey will depart on March 25th, 2026, from the Bulupitu Terminal, Purwokerto; the Mangkang Terminal, Semarang; the Giwangan Terminal, Yogyakarta; the Tirtonandi Terminal, Solo; the Giri Adipura Terminal, Wonogiri; the Kertawangunan Terminal, Kuningan; the Purboyo Terminal, Madiun; the Bungurasih Terminal, Surabaya; the Alang-Alang Lebar Terminal, Palembang; the Anak Air Terminal, Padang; the Amplas Terminal, Medan; and the Batoh Terminal, Aceh.
The handover of motorcycles for the outbound journey will take place on March 16th, 2026, at the Pondok Cabe Terminal, South Tangerang, and will depart on the same evening from the same location.
