Registration for Internship Vacancies with Minimum Wage Pay Closes 28 July 2026
The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) has announced that registration for the second batch of the National Apprenticeship Programme (MagangHub) remains open until 28 July 2026. The programme is open to graduates of higher education and professional education who meet the requirements, offering them an opportunity to gain work experience and improve their competencies before entering the job market. Director General of Vocational Training and Productivity Development Darmawansyah stated that MagangHub Batch 1 of the second wave is part of a target to reach 150,000 participants in 2026, with the implementation divided into three batches of 50,000 participants each. ‘We invite eligible university and professional education graduates to take advantage of this opportunity. MagangHub serves as a means to gain work experience, enhance competence, and strengthen readiness to enter the workforce,’ he said in a statement on Wednesday (22/7/2026). After registration closes on 28 July 2026, the selection process will run until 5 August 2026. A plenary session and participant determination will take place on 6 August, with results announced on 7 August. The apprenticeship will commence on 10 August, followed by a kick-off event for the National Apprenticeship Programme Batch 1 of 2026 on 11 August. Darmawansyah explained that MagangHub features several regulatory and technical improvements to enhance its quality and provide broader benefits for both participants and partner organisations. One key enhancement is the opportunity for all participants to take a competency certification exam administered by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) upon completing the apprenticeship. This certificate is expected to add value and boost participants’ competitiveness in the job market. The Ministry has also expanded the programme’s target group by opening it to graduates of professional education programmes, such as those in health, engineering, and accounting, provided their professional certificate was obtained within two years of their diploma or bachelor’s degree. ‘This policy is designed to accommodate the characteristics of professional education, which requires strengthening practical experience before fully entering the world of work,’ Darmawansyah noted. During the six-month programme, participants receive an allowance equivalent to the local district or city minimum wage at the partner organisation’s location. They are also covered by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, which includes work accident insurance and death benefits. To support programme quality, the Ministry has strengthened coordination with provincial and district-level manpower offices. Regular monitoring ensures that mentoring by supervisors follows the curriculum and that partner organisations provide a safe, healthy, and conducive learning environment. The latest technical guidelines also accommodate partner organisations operating on a six-day work week, regulating participants’ working hours and schedules, rest entitlements, adjustments to working hours in accordance with labour regulations, and mechanisms for resignation or dismissal along with the rights and obligations of each party. The regulations also cover apprenticeship implementation during collective leave days, national holidays, and other special conditions, including schedule adjustments, calculation of the apprenticeship period, and fulfilment of participants’ rights to ensure the programme runs in an orderly, effective, and optimally beneficial manner for all parties.
