The government has officially announced the opening of registration for participants to attend the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia ceremony at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta. The public can register starting today, Wednesday, 5 August 2026, at 10.00 WIB.

“Invitation registration will be open for the next three days (5-7 August 2026),” wrote the Ministry of State Secretariat on its Instagram account, @kemensetneg.ri, as quoted on Wednesday (5/8/2026).

Quotas are limited, so interested individuals are advised to register quickly. Furthermore, there is a daily quota, though the exact number has not been disclosed.

“Limited quota! Registration will close once the quota is met each day,” wrote the Ministry of State Secretariat.

Requirements to Attend the 81st Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony at the Merdeka Palace:

  • Must be an Indonesian citizen (WNI), proven by a valid Identity Card (KTP) or Family Card (KK).

  • Minimum age of 12 years as of Monday, 17 August 2026.

  • Toddlers are not permitted to be brought to the ceremony.

  • Must be physically and mentally healthy.

  • Free from congenital diseases that could be dangerous in a crowd.

  • Must have completed the national vaccination programme.

  • One National Identity Number (NIK) is only valid for one registration application for the ceremony invitation.

Required Documents for Registration:

  • A scan or digital photo of a valid KTP.

  • A Child Identity Card (KIA) for children or teenagers aged 12-17 years.

  • A recent formal selfie holding the KTP or KIA. The pose must be facing the camera with a neutral expression and wearing a collared shirt.

Registration Procedure:

  • Prepare the required documents for registration.

  • Visit the website https://pandang.istanapresiden.go.id.

  • Fill in the form.

  • Upload the required documents.

  • Confirm the registration via the link sent to your email.

  • If successful, you will need to exchange the invitation for a physical copy by presenting your KTP/KIA.

In addition to attending the ceremony, members of the public who successfully obtain an invitation are also entitled to watch arts and cultural performances at the Merdeka Palace.
