The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI) is set to open job vacancies through a labour-intensive programme, which is targeted to commence this week.

“As I have stated, there are approximately 2,843 vacancies for this labour-intensive initiative, intended to serve as a social safety net for those currently unable to find employment. We will be implementing this within the coming weeks,” said Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung following the inauguration of the Jakarta Urban Knowledge Hub in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Monday (8/6/2026).

Pramono noted that participants in the programme will work for a duration of three to six months and will receive wages in accordance with the Jakarta Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) of Rp 5.7 million.

“The funds are already available, and the duration will be between three to six months. This is being undertaken to provide opportunities for underprivileged citizens to secure work,” he added.

Pramono stated that the primary requirement for participating in the programme is holding a Jakarta identity card (KTP). Residents from outside Jakarta will not be eligible to apply.

“The only requirement is a Jakarta KTP. I apologise, but we cannot offer opportunities to those with KTPs from outside Jakarta,” he said.

He confirmed that there are no specific educational background requirements, noting that this policy aligns with the recruitment regulations for Individual Service Providers (PJLP) within the Jakarta Provincial Government.

“There are none. For PJLP, even those with a primary school education are permitted. Since I became governor, whereas the previous requirement was senior high school, now primary school graduates are eligible; therefore, the only requirement is a Jakarta KTP,” Pramono explained.

Pramono added that the available roles will be tailored to the needs of the local government, with participants assisting in various public service sectors in Jakarta.

“As this is a social safety net project, the roles can vary. They could assist the ‘orange troops’ (street cleaners), PJLP, and so on; the core objective is to ensure people are working,” he concluded.
