Regional Transport Transformation: Brantas Abipraya Accelerates Bandung Basin Metropolitan BRT Development
State-owned construction firm PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) is once again delivering a modern, safe, comfortable, and environmentally friendly public transport system through the sustainable infrastructure development of the Bandung Basin Metropolitan Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).
Corporate Secretary Dian Sovana stated that the company held a public consultation in Cibeunying Kidul District to provide understanding regarding the work plan, traffic management during construction, and the long-term benefits the community will experience once the BRT is operational. This effort is acknowledged as a strategic step in enhancing the quality of public transport services while encouraging more efficient public mobility.
“The presence of the Bandung Basin Metropolitan BRT is expected to become a solution for public mobility, as well as contributing to reducing congestion and vehicle emissions in urban areas,” Dian said in a statement on Thursday, 18 June 2026.
The BRT project encompasses the construction of on-corridor lanes, halts, road pavement, and pavement revitalisation, all designed to improve the comfort and safety of both public transport users and pedestrians. During the construction period, Brantas Abipraya will implement phased traffic management to minimise the impact on community activities and road users.
In its execution, Brantas Abipraya also prioritises occupational health and safety (K3) aspects through the installation of work signage, zoning arrangements, temporary pedestrian paths, and other safety devices in accordance with applicable standards.
Dian added that community involvement is a crucial factor in the success of urban infrastructure development. Therefore, Brantas Abipraya has opened active communication channels via a complaint mechanism to receive input, suggestions, and reports from the public throughout the construction process.
“We are committed to carrying out the work with attention to safety, quality, and public comfort. Through open and collaborative communication, we hope this development proceeds smoothly and delivers optimal benefits to the people of Greater Bandung,” she said.
The Bandung Basin Metropolitan BRT is part of the government’s effort to provide a more modern and integrated public transport system. With the BRT service, the public will gain access to faster, more comfortable, and reliable transport, while supporting the creation of a more sustainable urban area.
