Regional Sulawesi Local Government Excellence Awards 2026 to Compete for Four Categories
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and Kompas.com will host the 2026 Regional Sulawesi Local Government Excellence Awards at Hotel Claro in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, on Friday, 29 May 2026. The event recognises local governments’ performance in budget management, innovation, and governance quality under the MoHA’s Directorate General of Regional Development (Ditjen Bina Bangda), while promoting a healthy work culture. Titled ‘Enhancing Regional Economies and Reducing Stunting’, the 2026 awards feature 28 nominations across four categories. Assessments are based on programme synergy, service delivery achievements, and the effectiveness of interventions at village level. In addition to concrete outcomes such as declining stunting and poverty rates, regional innovations in delivering creative, responsive, and sustainable solutions are key evaluation criteria. Assessments also include reporting compliance, budgetary support for inflation control programmes, and the effectiveness of local initiatives. Moreover, local governments’ success in maintaining public purchasing power is a critical indicator for this category. Assessments also consider local governments’ ability to effectively manage regional state-owned enterprises (BUMDs) to boost local revenue (PAD) and community welfare. Digitalisation, financial governance, and consistency in Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) opinions are crucial indicators in determining regional excellence. Evaluations include planning quality, budgetary support, and local government innovations in employment that create effective, adaptive, and tangible solutions for communities. Quoting from kemendagri.go.id on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian stated that assessments rely on verified data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Ministry.
