Regional Secretary: Suspect Appointed as Pandeglang Regent's Expert Staff Has Not Yet Reported for Duty
“He has not reported for work as of today,” stated the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Pandeglang, Asep Rahmat, on Tuesday (2/6/2026).
Asep noted that at the time of the fatal accident, Ahmad Mursidi was on medical leave. He added that Mursidi currently requires regular dialysis sessions at a hospital.
“His leave has expired, but Mr Mursidi has submitted a medical certificate for treatment in Jakarta. He has not returned to work yet as reports indicate he undergoes dialysis twice a week,” he said.
Asep explained that the new position was considered lighter than Mursidi’s previous role at the Department of Investment and Integrated One-Stop Services (DPMPTSP). He emphasised that the appointment complied with regulations to ensure that public services remain uninterrupted.
“In our governance, we must follow the rule of law. We share the same concerns as the public, but certain mechanisms must be followed. The decision to appoint Mr Mursidi as an expert staff member was made with the aim of maintaining public services,” he added.
It is known that the Regent of Pandeglang, Raden Dewi Setiani, previously reshuffled several echelon II officials within the local government. Five officials were appointed to new positions, including Ahmad Mursidi, who currently holds suspect status.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the Pandeglang Regional Secretariat Oproom. Four of the appointees—Yahya Gunawan Kasbin, Hasan Bisri, Gimas Rahadyan, and Firmansyah—were present in person, while Ahmad Mursidi attended virtually.
“On behalf of myself and the Pandeglang Regency Government, we require officials who can run faster, work smarter, and move more cohesively. Future challenges demand innovation and creativity,” Dewi stated in her address last Tuesday (26/5).
