The Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the Republic of Indonesia for the East Kalimantan province is urging Law Enforcement Agencies (APH) to thoroughly investigate the case of PT Singlurus Pratama, which is alleged to have conducted illegal mining activities within the Bukit Soeharto Forest Park (Tahura) area.

This demand was emphasised by Yulianus Henock Sumual, a DPD RI member for East Kalimantan, in response to findings by the Forest Area Order Task Force (Satgas PKH) regarding illegal mining activities and permit violations in the Bukit Soeharto Tahura area by PT Singlurus Pratama.

“We appreciate the steps taken by the PKH Task Force, which successfully uncovered suspected illegal mining activities and permit violations in the Bukit Soeharto Tahura conservation area allegedly carried out by PT Singlurus Pratama,” he stated.

Furthermore, he frequently receives various complaints from indigenous communities and local residents regarding the mining company’s operations. Reports include the seizure of certified land without compensation and damage to residents’ houses due to blasting activities.
