Regional Heads Start Cycling to Work, Here's the State Secretary Minister's Response

Several regional heads have started using bicycles to commute to their respective offices. This step is part of the energy-saving movement. So, what is the central government’s response to this?

“We all appreciate the initiatives from provincial governments and district governments, for example, encouraging cycling to the workplace,” said State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi during a virtual press conference on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

According to him, besides reducing energy and fuel oil (BBM) consumption, cycling has other positive impacts.

“Of course, this also brings health and fitness effects. Hopefully, these initiatives can be followed by other regions,” Prasetyo stated.
