Regent Sanjaya Advocates for Tabanan Health Facilities Up to the Central Level
The Tabanan Regency Government is vigorously advocating for improvements in health services at the national level. Regent of Tabanan, I Komang Gede Sanjaya, directly held an audience with Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin at the Adhyatma Building of the Indonesian Ministry of Health in Jakarta on Wednesday (22/4/2026). In the meeting, Sanjaya was accompanied by the Head of the Health Department and the Director General of RS Singasana. The audience was also attended by three other regional heads, namely the Regent of Central Maluku, the Regent of Gorontalo, and the Regent of West Sumba, who similarly brought agendas to strengthen the health sector in their respective regions. Sanjaya emphasised that his presence was not merely for pleasantries, but to carry a major mission to advocate for the enhancement of health facilities in Tabanan. He also outlined the budget requirements for infrastructure repairs and the fulfilment of medical equipment at puskesmas and two regional hospitals, namely RSUD Tabanan and RS Singasana. “We want health services in Tabanan to become increasingly optimal and equitable,” Sanjaya asserted firmly. These efforts received a positive response from Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin. In his directions, the Minister stressed the importance of strengthening free health check programmes as part of promotional and preventive efforts, while affirming that improvements to infrastructure and the provision of medical equipment for puskesmas are national priorities. Additionally, the construction and enhancement of hospitals are prioritised for remote areas, considering budget allocations. The Ministry of Health also assured attention to the fulfilment of hospital medical equipment through various funding schemes. This audience serves as a strong signal that the Tabanan Regency Government’s struggle has received tangible support from the central government.
