The Regent of Purwakarta, Saepul Bahri Binzein, is preparing job opportunities for victims of alleged human trafficking from Purwakarta who have recently returned from Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara.

The victims are among 13 women from West Java who are suspected of being victims of human trafficking in Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. They were picked up and returned to West Java along with the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi.

“One of the victims of human trafficking is a resident of Purwakarta who was employed as a lounge singer in Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, with a promised salary of 10 million rupiah,” said Saepul Bahri Binzein, who is affectionately known as Om Zein, when met at his official residence on Wednesday (25/2).

According to Om Zein, the victim from Purwakarta was employed as a lounge singer with the promise of a salary of 10 million rupiah per month. However, this promise did not match reality. The victim was also reportedly subjected to mistreatment.

He explained that the 13 victims of human trafficking, including the resident of Purwakarta, have been returned to West Java. However, before returning to their respective regions, they will first undergo physical and psychological health examinations and counselling at the West Java Provincial Government.

“Once the results of the health examinations and counselling are available, the victim from Purwakarta will be provided with a job that matches her skills,” Om Zein promised.

The news about the 13 women from West Java who became victims of alleged human trafficking in Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, was immediately followed up by the Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, by picking up and rescuing the victims so that they could return to their respective regions in West Java.
