Regent Rudy Susmanto Denies Rumours of Bogor Withdrawing from West Java Province
The Regent of Bogor, Rudy Susmanto, has refuted circulating social media rumours regarding Bogor Regency’s potential withdrawal from West Java Province, which allegedly arose from disputes over mine closures in the Parungpanjang area. Speaking at the Bogor Regent’s Pendopo in Cibinong on Monday, Rudy emphasised that the Bogor Regency Government continues to work in synergy and maintains a positive relationship with the West Java Provincial Government under the leadership of Governor Dedi Mulyadi.
“We are simply asking the entire community to be wise when using social media,” said Rudy. He stated that narratives threatening Bogor’s exit from West Java are false and were never proposed by himself or any officials within the Bogor Regency Government. “If there are news reports claiming that if certain policies are not met, the Regent or Vice Regent will threaten to leave West Java, then show the video or the statement. I can assure you, none exist,” he added.
According to Rudy, the Bogor Regency Government is currently focused on accelerating development across various sectors in partnership with the West Java Provincial Government and the central government. He noted that Bogor still faces significant challenges, ranging from road infrastructure and school construction to the improvement of public services, all of which require multi-party support. “The people of Bogor Regency need the acceleration of infrastructure development. There are still many damaged roads and many damaged schools,” he said.
Furthermore, Rudy urged the public not to be easily provoked by unverified information on social media, suggesting that these platforms should instead be used as tools for constructive criticism and feedback for the government. He reaffirmed that the relationship between the Bogor Regency Government and the West Java Provincial Government remains harmonious and mutually supportive of regional development, with both levels of government operating within their respective authorities. “We are building the nation together according to our respective authorities, responsibilities, and roles,” Rudy concluded, calling for unity and peace among the citizens of Bogor.
