Regent Pasilong electrocuted
UJUNGPANDANG, S. Sulawesi: Polewali Mamasa Regent Andi Saat Pasilong was electrocuted when he tried to turn on the water heater in his bathroom on Sunday night.
He was survived by his wife and daughter.
He was found dead at his official residence by his aide.
Pasilong, 52, was a retired Army infantry colonel, and served in the region in various positions, including as military chiefs in Sidrap and Parepare and as Polewali Mamasa regency council speaker, before he was appointed as regency head in 1995.
His election and term in office were filled with controversy, but police said yesterday that they did not find any indication of foul play in his death. (31/09)
