Regent of West Lampung (Lambar) Parosil Mabsus has stressed the importance of innovation in managing the ‘Sekolah Kopi’ (Coffee School) to increase the appeal of the educational destination while strengthening the promotion of robusta coffee in the region. “I ask the Plantation Office and related regional apparatus to continue innovating. Create attractive programmes, creative educational activities, and events that can draw public interest to visit the Coffee School,” said the Regent of West Lampung, Parosil Mabsus, when contacted from South Lampung on Tuesday. According to him, the Coffee School is a regional icon that not only functions as a learning centre for coffee but also serves as a showcase for West Lampung’s robusta coffee potential, which must be continuously developed to become more widely known by the public and tourists. “This Coffee School is the pride of West Lampung Regency. This place is not only a means of learning about coffee but also the face of the region in introducing the quality of our robusta coffee. Therefore, its existence must be maintained and developed so that it is increasingly visited by the public and tourists,” he said. He assessed that the complete facilities must be balanced with continuous programme updates so that visitor numbers keep increasing and provide a positive impact on the community’s economy. “Do not let the well-maintained facilities just run ordinarily. There must be updates so that visitors continue to grow and the economic benefits can be felt by the community,” he said. Parosil also reminded all Coffee School employees to maintain the quality of service for every visitor. According to him, friendly service, environmental cleanliness, and well-maintained facilities are important factors in creating a memorable experience. “Take care of the facilities that have been built as if they were your own. Ensure environmental cleanliness is always maintained, care for every facility properly, and provide friendly, fast, and professional service to all visitors,” he said. He added that the success of the Coffee School is not only measured by the completeness of its facilities but also by the quality of service and the ability to provide an engaging educational experience that encourages the public and tourists to return to West Lampung. Currently, West Lampung Regency is the largest robusta coffee producer in Lampung Province, with a land area reaching approximately 55,000 hectares, all managed by the people. Meanwhile, the region’s coffee production yields an average of more than 50,000 to 60,000 tonnes of coffee beans annually.
