Blora, (ANTARA) — Blora Regency Regent Arief Rohman says the management of old oil wells by PT Blora Patra Energi (BPE), the regional-owned enterprise (BUMD) owned by the Blora Regency Government, has delivered a tangible contribution to the Pendapatan Asli Daerah (PAD) of Blora Regency while also stimulating the local economy and the welfare of residents in the area. He noted that the management of old oil wells not only impacts the energy sector but also creates jobs and raises incomes for people living around community oil fields. He stated that Blora’s economic growth in 2025 is projected to reach around 5.4 percent compared with the previous year, supported by the agricultural sector and the oil and gas (migas) sector. Through PT BPE, budgets are allocated for well service or maintenance and for the use of environmentally friendly technologies. Arief disclosed that the collaboration between PT BPE, the Blora Regency Government, Pertamina, and the community has been running well, ensuring the management of old wells remains stable without social unrest. The Blora Regency Government is also pursuing the reactivation of potential old wells to boost local oil production. The management of old oil wells also creates jobs, enhances local welfare, and strengthens the Blora Regency’s PAD. During 2025, the number of active wells was recorded at 100 sites, comprising 96 wells in Ledok and four wells in Semanggi, with total production reaching about 5.226 million litres of crude oil.
