West Bandung Regent Jeje Ritchie Ismail has emphasised that sanctions, including dismissal, await any official proven to have engaged in the trading of positions within the West Bandung Regency Government. He urged all parties to report any irregularities.

"If anyone knows or receives information about the buying and selling of positions or being promised money for a certain position, please report it to the local government, the Inspectorate, the Cimahi Police, or the Prosecutor’s Office. We will take firm action; there is no tolerance," Jeje said on Monday (27/7/2026).

To anticipate irregularities in the filling of positions, the West Bandung Regency Government, together with law enforcement officials, has formed the ‘Bandung Barat Berbenah’ Task Force. The task force involves the Cimahi Police, the Prosecutor’s Office, and the Inspectorate in supervising the process of rotation, mutation, and promotion of state civil apparatus.

With this task force, Jeje wants to ensure that all governance processes within the West Bandung Regency Government, including the filling of positions through rotation, mutation, and promotion, are free from corrupt practices and illegal position transactions. "We want a government that is transparent, professional, and accountable, and definitely free from corruption and position trading," he stated.

Jeje also stressed that he has never given room for any party to use his name for the purpose of obtaining a position. "I often hear that someone is using my name to get a certain position. I can confirm that is not true and there is no room for such practices," he said.

Cimahi Police Chief AKBP Niko Nurallah Adi Putra stated that the police will be part of the task force and will open the widest possible space for the public to submit information regarding suspected irregularities. "Both the giver and the receiver can be subject to criminal charges. Therefore, we urge the public not to engage in such practices," Niko said.

He added that the formation of the task force is not solely focused on supervising position mutations but also covers a number of governance reform agendas. "The Cimahi Police are opening the door as wide as possible for any incoming information. If there is an allegation of position trading, someone using an official’s name, promising a position, or asking for something, we will investigate it thoroughly," Niko concluded.
