Regent Flags Off Inaugural Train Journey on Banyuwangi-Bandung Route
Banyuwangi (ANTARA) - Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani officially flagged off the inaugural departure of the Sangkuriang train from Ketapang Station in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java, to Bandung Station in West Java, on Saturday. “Previously, routes from Banyuwangi to Jakarta, Malang, and several other major cities have also been launched. Hopefully, with this new route today, Banyuwangi-Bandung, it can increase tourist visits,” she said at Ketapang Station in Banyuwangi Regency. With the launch of this long-distance transportation route of approximately 1,002 kilometres return, Ipuk continued, it is hoped that the public will be increasingly facilitated in travelling. According to her, the launch of this new long-distance train route will add to the transportation access facilities to arrive at the easternmost regency of Java Island. “We also hope that the train becomes a very popular mode of transportation, so that many people come to Banyuwangi,” said Regent Ipuk.
