Bangli, Bali - The Regent of Bangli, Sang Nyoman Sedana Arta, has assured that the series of events for the 822nd anniversary of Bangli Regency will not use regional budget (APBD) funds to support government budget efficiency.

“This is in accordance with the directives of the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the Governor of Bali to avoid holding large-scale ceremonies using state funds,” said Sedana Arta in a press statement during the 822nd anniversary commemoration of Bangli Regency at Bangli Town Square, Bali, on Sunday.

He stated that the financing for the Bangli anniversary commemoration involves participation from the community and the private sector contributing to support the commemoration of the regency’s founding day.

“Usually, we involve officials to contribute voluntarily, but today there is none and without APBD,” he added.

Although held in a simple manner, public enthusiasm is quite high. For example, they have erected dozens of penjor or bamboo decorations and young coconut leaves that adorn the main streets of the town.

In commemorating the Bangli anniversary, Sedana Arta emphasised the direction of regional development for 2026, namely in the fields of education and health.

In the education sector, the Bangli Regency Government has prepared a land grant of 5.5 hectares for the development of educational facilities and the deployment of health personnel to pursue specialist doctor education.

In addition, the readiness of the Faculty of Medicine at I Gusti Bagus Sugriwa Hindu State University (UHN), which will begin accepting new students in September 2026.

Meanwhile, health services will be improved at Bangli General Hospital by preparing the operation of new advanced medical equipment, including CT scans and chemotherapy services, which will be fully supported by equipment assistance from the Ministry of Health.

Meanwhile, at the anniversary commemoration ceremony, the Bangli Regency Government presented a grand performance titled Tetengger Agung, performed by hundreds of elementary and junior high school students from Bangli Sub-district.

That cultural performance is a direct idea from the regent and deputy regent of Bangli, coordinated by the Bangli Regency Education, Youth, and Sports Office.

Amid the ongoing flow of modernisation, that grand performance affirms the New Bangli Era that remains firmly rooted in cultural roots and ancestral heritage.

For the 2026 anniversary commemoration, the Bangli Regency Government has adopted the theme “Bhakti, Ratna, Radhaka”, which means sincere devotion, noble values, and the spirit of dedication to the birthplace.

The series of Bangli Regency anniversary commemorations will conclude on 17 May 2026, enlivened by an entertainment stage featuring local Balinese musicians and artists.
