Banda Aceh (ANTARA) - The Regent of North Aceh, Ismail A Jalil, has distributed the second phase of livelihood guarantee (jadup) aid to victims affected by floods in the district. “Alhamdulillah, today we have symbolically handed over the second phase jadup aid to communities in Tanah Jambo Aye and Seunuddon. The distribution will continue to other areas,” said the Regent of North Aceh when contacted in Banda Aceh on Saturday. The Regent, affectionately known as Ayah Wa, explained that the distribution is part of the second-phase stimulus programme for communities impacted by flash floods that struck several areas in North Aceh. The North Aceh District Government is committed to ensuring that all affected communities receive their entitlements without exception. On that occasion, Ayah Wa also instructed all geuchik/village heads in the affected areas to immediately update and validate the data of aid recipients. “This is considered important to ensure that the distribution runs on target and avoids administrative issues in the field,” he said. He added that any data that is still invalid or unverified should be promptly corrected. The number of jadup aid recipients is spread across several sub-districts, namely Baktiya with 615 households (KK), Langkahan 93 KK, Muara Batu 439 KK, Sawang 1,898 KK, Seunuddon 292 KK, and Tanah Jambo Aye 1,010 KK. He stated that the total budget allocated for this second-phase stimulus programme amounts to Rp23.21 billion, consisting of Rp18.21 billion for jadup aid and another Rp5 billion used for fulfilling housing contents and economic stimulus for the affected communities. The aid distribution is carried out in collaboration with PT Pos Indonesia to ensure smooth, orderly, and targeted distribution. Ayah Wa called on the community to remain strong and rise from the calamity to build a better future.
