Regency promotes rafting for tourists

BANDA ACEH, Aceh: Southeast Aceh is promoting rafting and
trekking to lure both foreign and domestic tourists, its district
head Syahbuddin BP was quoted by Antara as saying recently.

The district administration is now preparing better facilities
for rafting and trekking at Mt. Leuser National Park, he said.

Tourists can raft along Alas River, which is known for its
strong currents, while enjoying the beauty of the national park's
forests, he said. Those who like trekking can climb Mt. Leuser,
he said.

About 20 tourists, particularly from Holland and Germany,
visit Southeast Aceh every month to go rafting or trekking, he
said.
