Regency Government Hands Over Ambulances to Two Puskesmas in Puncak Jaya
Jayapura (ANTARA) — The Puncak Jaya Regency Government, in the Papua Highlands, has handed over two ambulances to Puskesmas Ilu and Puskesmas Tingginambut to improve health services for residents in the area.
Deputy Regent Mus Kogoya, in a press release in Jayapura on Thursday, said that the presence of these operational vehicles is expected to ease the process of referring patients.
‘On Monday (2/3) we handed over two ambulances to Puskesmas Ilu and Puskesmas Tingginambut at the yard of the Regent’s Office in Kota Mulia. This provision is a form of government effort to support health services,’ he said.
According to Mus, the vehicles should be maintained and used optimally so that health services can run smoothly.
‘The four-wheel-drive vehicles we provided are Mitsubishi Triton 2.4L DC Exceed 4x4 M/T modified as ambulances sourced from the Special Autonomy Fund for Budget Year 2025,’ he said.
He explained that the vehicles should be used for public service; therefore they must not be rented out or used for purposes outside the duties of health service, and must be well maintained so they can last longer and provide maximum benefit to the community,” he said.
‘He added that the Puncak Jaya Regency Government hopes the addition to the ambulance fleet will improve the responsiveness of health services in Ilu District and Tingginambut District, including reaching people in remote areas.’
