Regarding the Third Phase Evacuation of 45 Indonesians from Iran, Foreign Ministry: 9 People to Arrive in Jakarta This Evening
The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) has revealed that nine Indonesian citizens (WNI) evacuated from Iran will arrive in the homeland on Thursday (16/4/2026) evening.
Director of WNI Protection at Kemlu, Heni Hamidah, stated that these nine WNI are part of the 45 evacuated in the third phase.
She explained that the repatriation of the 45 WNI is being carried out in stages across three flight batches.
“For these 45 evacuated WNI, they are divided into three arrival batches in Jakarta. The first batch arrived on 14 April with 14 people, the second batch with nine people yesterday on the 15th, and the third batch of nine people will arrive this evening,” said Heni at the Kemlu office in Jakarta on Thursday.
“Upon arrival in the homeland, these evacuees will be handed over to the Social Services and Provincial Liaison Agencies for the process of returning them to their respective home regions,” she added.
She stated that, based on data from the Indonesian Embassy in Tehran, the number of WNI remaining in Iran after the evacuation is 236, consisting of students and Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI).
“The rest are PMI and expatriates who are married to local citizens,” she said.
Previously, the third phase evacuation of WNI from Iran had taken place, with 45 people scheduled to return to Indonesia.
The third phase evacuation process was already underway on Sunday (12/4/2026) in Tehran.
They travelled to a neighbouring country of Iran via land route, namely to Baku, Azerbaijan.
