Regarding the Inauguration of BGN Head, State Secretary: We Will Announce Later
The State Secretary, Prasetyta Hadi, stated that the new executives of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) can immediately perform their duties and functions following the announcement of the leadership structure reshuffle on Tuesday night, 2 June 2026. President Prabowo Subianto has decided to appoint Nanik Sudaryati Deyang as the Head of BGN, replacing Dadan Hindayana. Meanwhile, the two deputy positions, previously held by Inspector General (Ret.) Sony Sanjaya and Lieutenant General TNI (Ret.) Lodewyk Pusung, are now held by Agustina Arumsari and Major General TNI Trenggono.
Regarding when the inauguration of the three new BGN leaders will take place, Prasetyo Hadi asked the public to wait. “Wait, we will announce it later (the inauguration). What is certain is that with the appointment of the new officials, they can already carry out their functions and responsibilities as appropriate,” Prasetyo said during a press conference at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday, 2 June 2026.
The Presidential Palace claims that the change in BGN leadership was conducted to strengthen organisational performance and accelerate the implementation of various priority programmes managed by the BGN. Prasetyo noted that President Prabowo’s decision to reshuffle the BGN leadership structure was based on the results of monitoring and evaluation over the past 1.5 years.
According to Prasetyo, Prabowo conducts daily monitoring and evaluation of the entire performance of the Red and White Cabinet, including the performance of the Nutrition Agency. During this evaluation process, Prabowo received input from various parties, including ministries and the public, who are the beneficiaries of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) project.
Prasetyo stated that there were several notes regarding BGN’s performance that were taken into consideration by the Head of State. One of these concerns matters of discipline in implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). “There are also matters concerning discipline in governance, including discipline in maintaining the quality of food that should have been established by the National Nutrition Agency,” he said.
The Gerindra Party politician added that the change in BGN leadership is expected to address the aforementioned issues. Prasetyo reminded that the National Nutrition Agency plays a strategic role in supporting the government’s agenda in improving public nutritional quality.
The Presidential Palace subsequently urged the three new BGN leaders—Nanik, Agustina, and Trenggono—to immediately conduct internal consolidation and strengthen cross-ministerial and inter-agency coordination. “As well as strengthening coordination with local governments, both at the provincial and regency/city levels, and ensuring that all BGN programmes can continue to run as well as possible,” said Prasetyo.
Prasetyo added that the government places its hopes on the new leadership to improve organisational governance and deliver real benefits to the community, particularly in efforts to enhance the quality of nutrition, health, and Indonesia’s human resources.
