JAKARTA – Three TNI personnel were killed in an Israeli attack in Lebanon. The Aqsa Working Group (AWG) has urged the Government of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) not to limit its response to mere condemnations, as such statements alone will not halt Israel’s crimes. To that end, AWG calls on RI to take firm and measured steps to defend the honour and sovereignty of the nation.

“The attack on the Indonesian contingent is an attack on the Republic of Indonesia itself; therefore, the government must not stop at mere condemnations but must take firm and measured actions to defend the honour and sovereignty of the nation,” said AWG Presidium Chairman Muhammad Anshorullah to Republika on Wednesday (1/4/2026).

AWG also conveyed its deepest condolences over the deaths of the three TNI soldiers killed by Zionist Israel while carrying out their duties as United Nations peacekeepers (UNIFIL). AWG prays that the deceased receive the best place beside Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala and that their bereaved families are granted patience and strength.

Anshorullah emphasised that AWG appreciates the dedication and sacrifice of TNI soldiers in carrying out humanitarian and global peace missions as a manifestation of Indonesia’s commitment to maintaining global stability.
