Regarding Iranian Attack, Trump Conveys Issue to Saudi Crown Prince
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Saturday (28 February 2025) that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received a telephone call from the President of the United States. Trump conveyed Washington’s condemnation of the direct missile attack against the Kingdom, which was successfully intercepted by Saudi Arabia’s air defence system.
He emphasised US support for the Kingdom and backed all measures undertaken by the Kingdom to confront Iran, which he described as destabilising security and stability in the region. In a separate call, Crown Prince Mohammed and Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa discussed the ongoing military escalation in the region. Al-Sharaa affirmed his country’s support and solidarity with the Kingdom.
The AFP news agency reported on Saturday (28 February 2025) that explosions were heard in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The explosions in Riyadh are believed to be part of Iran’s retaliatory military operations targeting US military bases in the Middle East.
Based on media reports, explosions occurred in countries hosting US military bases. As reported by Al Jazeera, explosions were heard in Kuwait and Bahrain.
