Regarding 380 Job Vacancies at Customs for High School Graduates, Purbaya: To Open Next Month
Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has announced plans to open around 380 job vacancies at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC) for high school graduates or equivalent. The recruitment is intended to fill technical field positions to strengthen Customs’ performance and address urgent operational staffing needs. “In the Ministry of Finance itself, as I said before, we’re opening 380 positions at Customs for high school graduates. It’s been several months and it hasn’t happened yet,” Purbaya said during a conversation with the media at the Ministry of Finance complex in Jakarta on Tuesday, 7 April 2026. “I’m saying, just execute it because I also need people at the technical field level. Perhaps it will open next month,” he added. Purbaya further noted that the previous recruitment process had taken quite a long time, so he is pushing for the hiring to be accelerated to meet field workforce requirements. Regarding the opening of Candidate Civil Servant (CPNS) positions this year, Purbaya stated that the policy falls under the authority of the Ministry of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB). However, he emphasised that from a budgetary perspective, there are no obstacles. “CPNS is under the authority of the Minister of PANRB. The budget should be there,” he said. It is known that previously, the Minister of PANRB, Rini Widyantini, indicated that the government would open around 160,000 CPNS formations in 2026. “Hopefully, hopefully,” Rini said at her office on Tuesday, 24 February 2026. She indicated the opening of 2026 CPNS formations after stating that around 160,000 civil servants had retired in 2025. “We already have the data, around 160,000, that’s it,” she said.
