Refusing to Use Raw Data, Badung KPU Re-verifies 16,253 Voters

The General Elections Commission (KPU) of Badung Regency is re-verifying 16,253 voter data entries derived from the National KPU to prevent them from being immediately adopted as permanent data. This step is being implemented through careful examination, cross-referencing, and validation alongside relevant agencies, including village and sub-district governments.

“Every piece of data we receive must be followed up and scrutinised against real-world conditions. We are cross-referencing it with population data, TNI-Polri (Military and Police) records, local government data, and field verifications,” said the Head of the Planning, Data, and Information Division of Badung KPU, Ni Putu Rulyana Kusuma Wardani, on Sunday (20/09/202<0xC2>6).

The derived data includes 4,537 new voters, 2,697 incoming movers, 1,804 outgoing movers, 1,875 data entries deemed Not Meeting Requirements (TMS), and 374 overseas voters. Additionally, there are status changes for 2,566 marriages, 2,020 Family Cards (KK), 251 names, and 129 dates of birth.

“We are collaborating with the Department of Population and Civil Registration (Disdukcapil) as well as the ranks of Kodim 1611, Denpasar City Police, Badung Police, and Ngurah Rai Airport Police. This coordination is to ensure the status of citizens who have newly joined the TNI-Polri or those who have retired,” said Rulyana.

Badung KPU is also conducting Limited Matching and Research (Coktas) to record deceased voters and persons with disabilities. The validation of overseas voter data and deceased citizens is also being carried out alongside district, village, and sub-district authorities through coordination meetings and direct field visits.

“The process of scrutiny and further Coktas is still ongoing, including for inactive voters. We are going directly to the field to ensure all information is confirmed according to the actual conditions on the ground,” Rulyana added.

The initial arrangement of Polling Stations (TPS) has now commenced, involving the determination of coordinate points for each village and sub-district. Badung KPU has also scheduled special coordination with Kerobokan Prison and the Kerobokan Women’s Prison.

“We visited Kerobokan Prison and Kerobokan Women’s Prison to map out Special Location Polling Stations. This tiered coordination ensures that all TPS planning and voter data are truly verified,” said Rulyana.
