Refugees sit exams

KENDARI, Southeast Sulawesi: Refugees sheltering here from
riot-torn Ambon, Maluku, include 902 high-school students, who
are currently sitting for exams, Antara reported on Tuesday.

The provincial head of the Ministry of Education and Culture,
Abdul Kadir Gani, said the refugee students would join the 9,701
junior high school students 9,701 senior student sitting the
exams in the province.

At least 20,000 refugees fled Maluku, where violence, which
begun in January, continued to last month.
