Reflexology and Massage Parlour in Bogor Catches Fire, Suspected Cause is Electrical Short Circuit

The building that caught fire was a reflexology and massage parlour. The source of the fire, or the cause, is suspected to be an electrical short circuit,” said the Head of Firefighting and Rescue at the Bogor City Fire Department, M Ade Nugraha, on Thursday (4 June 2026).

Ade said that the fire was reported by employees of the massage parlour and occurred around 06:32 WIB. The fire initially broke out in the VVIP room on the second floor of the reflexology building.

“Initially, the employees were sleeping across from the location of the fire. When it happened, the witness did not know there was a fire. The security guard at the dealership noticed the fire and immediately informed the local employees. The fire was visible on the second floor, in the VVIP room, from above the ceiling,” Ade explained.

A total of three fire trucks from the Sukasari, Yasmin, and Cibuluh sectors were deployed to the location to handle the situation. The fire, which had spread and produced thick black smoke, was successfully extinguished after approximately 2 hours of firefighting.

“The fire has now been extinguished. The firefighting took 1 hour and 30 minutes, and the cooling process took 40 minutes,” said Ade.

There were no casualties or injuries as a result of the incident. The total loss is estimated at Rp 500 million.
